Abstract
  • This paper will discuss the processes and outputs of implementing a three year project on ecosystem-based fisheries management (EAFM)  in Lombok, Indonesia.  The discussion will cover the theoretical framework, implementation strategies (diagnosis, establishing management plan, and implementing the management options) and the outputs. In particular, it will highlight the community negotiations in the process of establishing regulations and management agency for the management implementation. We believe this is the first try-out of  EAFM implementation in Indonesia. Thus the review of this case is important for the development of EAFM in Indonesia in the future.
