Abstract
  • In the mid-1970s, ODFW faced a problem with Oregon's recreational bay clam fisheries. The size of littleneck clams and cockles taken in some bays was dramatically decreasing. This document is a report submitted by ODFW to the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission. It recommends a reduction in overall take by recreational clammers as a way to lower pressure on the resources. These recommendations were adopted in time for the 1977 clamming season.
