Abstract
  • This is an exhibit made by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission on October 20, 1993. It is intended to establish rules "1) governing open and closed fishing areas in the event softshell crab results in a delayed season for ocean Dungeness crab; 2) to modify commercial bay crab rules to prevent harvesters from setting gear prior to the opening day; and 3) to clarify the pink shrimp count per pound requirements." (p.1) Two attachments are included: a memorandum of understanding between California, Oregon and Washington fishery agencies regarding management of the Dungeness crab fishery, and the Tri-State Dungeness Crab Committee's proposed procedures to test for soft-shell crab.
