Abstract
  • This is an Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife exhibit made before the April 26, 1995 meeting of the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission. The exhibit concerns the need for some disabled Oregonians to have assistance digging clams. At the time, it was illegal for one individual to help another dig clams, thus shutting out part of the population from this activity. “Oregon currently has no provisions for people with disabilities who wish to participate in clam digging but are unable to perform the entire operation themselves. Disabled clam digger permits will enable people with disabilities to have assistance digging clams.“ Citizen petitions are included.
