Departmental Publication Reviews (Faculty Senate Library Committee)
In 2005, the Task Force for Scholarly Communication began educating OSU faculty members regarding the library's cost of journals, impact factors and accessibility of journals within their field through unit-specific reviews of the journals in which they publish. This work has been continued by the Faculty Senate Library Committee.
These reviews of the journals in which specific departments publish normally include explanatory text regarding the crisis in scholarly communication and a spreadsheet that includes information about journal costs and whether the journal is published by a commercial publisher or a society and the impact factor for the journal.
