Abstract:
Trees, shrubs and other plant life can be classified in many different ways and for many different purposes. Two classification systems that are commonly used by forest managers to assess vegetation patterns and their changes over time are “Plant Association Groups” (hereafter PAGs) and “Special Habitats.” PAGs are mapped on the Deschutes and Ochoco National Forest in the corporate Geographic Information System (GIS) database. This paper presents the Descriptions for PAGS and Special Habitats.
