Abstract
  • Portraiture is such a big and controversial topic that you could spend the rest of your life learning about it. This skill guide does not even presume to scratch the surface of the topic. Rather it suggests some ways in which you might begin an investigation of your own. If, in the course of your investigation, you encounter something that intrigues you enough to want to try it, go for it, give it a whirl, see if you can do it. Then ask yourself what you might do to improve it, or how you can build on your success.
