Description:
"Oregon's oyster industry is almost as old as the state. In the early 1860's,
schooner loads of native oysters were taken from Yaquina Bay and transported to
markets in San Francisco. Over the years, the industry and the resource have
changed drastically. This report briefly reviews the status of Oregon's oyster
resources and discusses some issues that the Department of Fish and Wildlife and the oyster industry need to address." (Introduction) Includes statistics for oyster landings from 1966-1977.
