Abstract	The interference of sulfide with the colorimetric determination of nitrite, by the method of Bendschneider and Robinson (1952), can be eliminated by passing the samples through a cationic exchange resin, Dowex 50W-X8, in the zinc form. This resin retains sulfide without affecting nitrite and the technique can be applied to automated methods.
