The development of leadership skills is one of the essential elements of a college education. The Multi-Institutional Leadership Survey (MLS) was conducted nationwide and was designed to "enhance knowledge regarding college student leadership development as well as the influence of higher education on the development of leadership capacities" (Dugan, et al., 2006, p. 7). OSU participated in the MLS in order to understand better OSU students in leadership positions as well as the OSU student in general regarding leadership skills, beliefs, and practices.
