Abstract
  • The purpose of this research was to study the effect of capillary tube dimensions on the apparent viscosity of an unstable dispersion of two immiscible liquids. The study was limited to laminar flow at a constant temperature. The dispersions were composed of a commercial solvent, Shellsolv 360, manufactured by the Shell Oil Company, and water. The composition of the dispersions ranged from 5 volume % to 50 volume % solvent dispersed in water.
