Abstract
  • Internally recording instruments were installed in the Drake Passage in January 1979 and recovered in January 1980. Additional instruments were installed at this time for the first experiment in the Pilot Ocean Monitoring Experiment. These are to be recovered in March of 1981. The array consisted of seventy current meters on twenty-four moorings. In addition there were twenty-eight temperture/pressure recorders and four thermistor chains installed on these same moorings. The data were taken at one hour intervals. In this report, some of the current meter measurements are summarized through pertinent statistics, progressive vector diagrams, real time plots, stick figures, rotary spectra, and conventional power spectra.
