The effects of rise-time and frequency on the auditory brainstem response were studied in six normal hearing adults. Stimuli were high-frequency gated tone-bursts with center frequencies of 8, 10, 12, and 14 kilohertz (kHz). Examined rise-times were .1, .25, .5, and 1.0 milliseconds (msec).
