Within the Lower North Umpqua watershed, BLM has acquired approximately 6,600 acres of land specifically to manage habitat to enhance the Columbian White-tailed Deer (CWTD). This area is called the North Bank Habitat Management Area (NBHMA) and will be managed as described in the NBHMA Environmental Impact Statement. The BLM...
The Airborne Data Acquisition and Registration (ADAR) remote sensing system captured one-meter resolution imagery of 25 different riparian sites in drift Creek Basin of coastal northwestern Oregon, USA. The multispectral, digital data characterized riparian areas with the intent to develop ecological indicators for long-term monitoring.
This is an integrated assessment across terrestrial, freshwater, and coastal marine realms. It includes the coast range of Oregon and Washington as well as Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The marine portion only includes the coastline and shallow subtidal; the next iteration will include the offshore component.
From July 16 to 20, 2007, international partners in a trans-
Atlantic workshop series on coastal mapping and informatics,
held a workshop on the campus of Oregon State University
entitled “Coastal Atlas Interoperability.” The workshop engaged
27 participants from 6 countries, representing 17 organizations
and multiple areas of scientific and...
We present velocity observations from a shipboard acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) on
R/V Wecoma during cruise W0105c (23 May to 13 June 2001). The cruise was a component
(Survey I) of the Coastal Ocean Advances in Shelf Transport (COAST) experiment. The ADCP
was an RD Instruments hull-mounted 153.6-kHz narrowband...
We present velocity observations from a shipboard acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) on RJV Revelle during cruises R9710 (20 October to 23 November 1997) and R9801 (9 January to 7 February 1998). The cruises were conducted as part of the Southern Ocean JGOFS (Joint Global Ocean Flux) Antarctic Polar Frontal...
CTD observations were made over the continental shelf and upper
continental slope from the coast to approximately 60 km off central California
between latitudes 34°N and 37.5°N. The measurements were made by Raytheon
Service Company as part of the Central California Coastal Circulation Study
sponsored by the Minerals Management Service....
PURPOSE: To determine physical, plankton and nutrient/chemical conditions over the continental
margin for climate change studies in NE Pacific. In particular, to make CTD and CTD/rosette and net
tow stations along 5 lines (off Newport, Heceta Head, Coos Bay, the Rogue River and Crescent City,
OR, to deploy drifters at...
PURPOSE: To determine physical, plankton and nutrient/chemical conditions over the continental
margin for climate change studies in NE Pacific. In particular, to make CTD and CTD/rosette
and net tow stations along the Newport Hydro line, to make continuous bio-acoustic observations
between the 50-500m. isobath, and to make continuous observations of...
As part of the GLOBEC Northeast Pacific Program, a Long Term Observation Program (LTOP) of repeated hydrographic observations along lines off Oregon began in September 1997 (Fleischbein et al, 1999). Of these lines, NH, off Newport, had been sampled frequently during the decade from 1961 to 1970, and another, FM,...
