Abstract:

This report summarizes published and unpublished source material characterizing the Pacific weathervane scallop (Pecten [Patinopecten] caurinus) population and fishery in Alaska (1967-1981). The Gulf of Alaska environment, scallop exploratory research (1953-1979), and aspects of scallop life history are reviewed. A commercial fishery for scallops has existed in Alaska since 1967....
