One of the most promising methods of constructing bandpass
filters without inductors is the RC digital filter. It is simply a number
of parallel RC branches which are sequentially switched between
the source and the load. If the source signal is at the same frequency
as the switching rate of...
A two year study was conducted at two locations to determine the effect of
three perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) row spacings on creeping bentgrass
(Agrostis stolonfera L.) biomass and seed production. At Location 1 in 2002, the
creeping bentgrass biomass within the 7.62 cm row spacing was less than...
Polychaete annelids from 48 benthic samples containing over
2000 specimens were identified. Samples were taken with either an
anchor dredge or an anchor-box dredge from a 15 station transect
(44° 39. 1'N) that ranges from 800 to 2900 meters in depth. Sediment
subsamples were collected and analyzed for organic carbon...
Trace metals in the aquatic environment are generally concentrated
on the surface of solid geochemical phases which eventually become incorporated
into estuarine and marine sediments. The mechanism of trace
metal concentration is believed to be adsorption with various geochemical
phases such as hydrous metal oxides, clays, and organic matter.
Several physical and chemical characteristics of sediments have
been proposed for use in tiered testing plans to predict the
presence of trace metals in estuarine sediments. Correlations often
exist, but the mere presence of a trace metal does not indicate
toxicity; a more thorough approach is needed.
