Abstract:

The regiodivergent O- to C- or N-carboxyl transfer of pyrazolyl carbonates is described, with DMAP giving preferential N-carboxylation and triazolinylidenes promoting selective C-carboxylation (both with up to >99 : 1 regioselectivity).
