The Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, & the Arts (Office of URSA) supports undergraduate student engagement in faculty-mentored research and scholarly work across all disciplines and campuses at OSU. We promote equity and inclusion by ensuring that all students, and especially students from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, and students identifying as first-generation and/or low-income, have access to information and resources needed to participate in these experiences, and that they are supported in navigating the research enterprise. We actively work with campus partners to help students overcome challenges to engaging in research at OSU.
Our office provides a wide range of resources and programs to ensure that students who engage in research find meaning and growth in these experiences, enhancing their readiness to succeed at OSU and beyond. Concurrently, we encourage high-quality, effective mentoring by providing professional development opportunities, resources, and awards to graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and faculty who mentor undergraduates in research. In doing so, we encourage mentors to maintain an authentic interest in their students and support undergraduate researchers holistically.
