Abstract
  • This report, dealing with labor and equipment performance standards, is the first of a series on costs and efficiencies in seed processing. A later report will consider equipment and facilities costs. These and time standards will be used to synthesize models of seed processing plants to determine what, effect length of season, annual volume, methods used, and kinds of seed have on costs of processing. These studies are being carried out by Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station and the United States Department of Agriculture cooperating.
