Abstract
  • 3188 Geotechnical Report, Rev. 1. Geotechnical Resources, Rnc. (GRI) conducted a geotechnical investigation for the proposed National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Building at Oregon State University's Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) on Yaquina Bay in Newport, Oregon. The NOAA site is located in the northeast portion of the HMSC campus on the South Beach peninsula. The purpose of the investigation was to evaluate subsurface conditions at the site and develop conclusions and recommendations for the site reparation, foundation support, and other design and construction considerations. The investigation consisted of subsurface exploration, limited laboratory testing, and engineering analyses. The report describes the work accomplished and presents recommendations regarding the geotechnical aspects of the project.
  • This report was completed as required for the planning on the Barry Fisher Building at Oregon State University's Hatfield Marine Science Center. Geotechnical Resources, Inc. also completed a geotechnical investigation for the OSU research vessel dock improvements and ship operations building. These results were summarized in a September 6, 1995 report to KPFF Consulting Engineers entitled, "Geotechnical Investigation, OSU Hatfield Marine Science CEnter Waterfront Improvements, Newport, Oregon."
