Abstract	The implementation of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and the Integrated Maritime Policy (IMP) requires scientific advice in many different fields such as marine biology, marine ecology and fishery economics. A wide range of fisheries data needed for scientific advice is collected, managed and made available by the Member States (MS) of the European Union (EU) under a general framework called the Data Collection Framework (DCF).
