Abstract
  • Wiegardt Brothers is the oldest family business to continuously harvest oysters in the US, in operation since the 1970s. We are oyster growers, or aquaculturists. The west coast oyster industry was founded on the native oyster, Ostrey Lurida, also regionally named the Olympia or Yaquina oyster. The name native stuck to the Willapa oyster from the onset, and is so to this day.
