Abstract
  • This dataset consists of three files (2 data files as .csv, and 1 R-code as .R) used for estimating the abundance of songbirds. Statistical methods (harris_early_seral.R) include N-mixture analysis and generalized linear models. Data files consist of songbird detections using standard point count methods at sites in tree plantations and associated site vegetation characteristics (harris_early_seral.csv) and the best-fitting models according to the statistical analyses (harris_spp_models.csv). Data were used for the manuscript "Bird abundance is highly dynamic across succession in early seral tree plantations" published in Forest Ecology and Management.
