Abstract
  • Hydrographic and optical measurements were made in situ in the Congo River and the Angola Basin during May 1978. These measurements were made by members of the optical oceanography group at Oregon State University in cooperation with scientists from the Netherlands Institute for Sea Research. The data taken by the Oregon State University group is presented in this report. All measurements presented herein were taken aboard the vessel M/V TYRO. Optical measurements were taken between May 7 and May 22, 1978. The station locations are shown in Figures 1 and 2. Table I is a listing of the measurements taken at each station. A description of the method of tabulation of data precedes, each of the types of data listings. Throughout this data report parentheses have been used to indicate station numbers which are different from those used by the Netherland Institute for Sea Research group. Station numbers in parentheses correspond to stations at which measurements were made by the OSU optics group alone. All other station numbers are the same as used by the Netherland Institute of Sea Research.
