Abstract
  • Presentation delivered to the OSU Libraries and Press Staff at the monthly administrative briefing on May 23, 2018. The presentation details the framework and ambitions of the Oregon State University Libraries and Press (OSULP) Community Interviewing Project. The project seeks to build community and reduce silos within OSULP by capturing the stories of those who work for the organization. A secondary ambition of the project is to document institutional history for use by future researchers. The primary audience for these interviews is the same collection of people who would contribute them - the staff of OSULP. This presentation documents the ways in which the initiative seeks to minimize the anxiety that often informs the oral history interviewing process; lists the questions that participants will be asked; and outlines the path that content will travel from collection to description to access.
