Abstract
  • The Umpqua River estuary was seined and gilinetted during the summer of 1972 to estimate the composition and distribution of fishes. The number of species collected at most sites averaged from four to six per seine haul and was relatively constant throughout the estuary. The number of fish collected per seine haul decreased as distance from the ocean increased. The distribution of the 41 species collected is discussed.
