Abstract
  • Presentation as part of a panel at the Society of American Archivists Conference, Portland, Oregon, on July 28, 2017. The panel "Building Better Bridges: Strategies and Best Practices for Engaging Archival Communities" consisted of a series of lightning talks followed by a panel-led discussion to shine a spotlight on innovative methods and best practices for archival community engagement.
  • In this presentation Fernández discusses two oral history projects: one is the product of a collaboration with a history class that focused on the local LGBTQ+ community and the second is called Latinos en Oregón - a project that has so far, expanded to the Latinx communities within four counties in Oregon.
