Abstract	The primary objective of the study was to develop the methodology to identify broad silvicultural treatment opportunities for nonindustrial private (NIP) timberland in western Montana using Forest Survey data. The study assumes a management goal of maximum volume production at the stand level. The purpose of the stand treatments is to maintain stand stocking at levels necessary to meet this goal.
