Abstract
  • Oxytocin was confirmed to have an impact of the PIP2 breakdown in ovine endometrial tissue. This experiment took two groups of ovariectomized ewes (n=5) and administered a shortened estrus cycle hormone regiment. It was found that, independent of the hormone treatments, especially P4, OT caused a small increase in the PIP2 breakdown. This breakdown of PIP2 to IP3 is significant at the 10% level.
