Abstract
  • Presentation delivered at the annual meeting of the Oral History Association, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This talk provides an overview of strategies used to grow the oral history program at the Oregon State University Libraries Special Collections and Archives Research Center. The presentation is divided into three parts: institutional context, making one's case to create an oral history program, and tactics used to do work in a manner that will promote the growth of a program. Specific topics discussed include collection development, community engagement, donor relations, description of legacy collections, and leveraging existing resources to increase access to oral history content.
