Abstract
  • From September, 1984 through March, 1985, I worked as a Visiting Intern for the Division of Special Programs, College of Arts and Sciences, Northeastern University (NU). My position entailed the administration and promotion of university marine related projects. The Division of Special Programs is responsible for the development, implementation and management of unique academic programs and sponsors programs ranging from graduate business studies in Bolzano, Italy to one of the programs I was responsible for, a year long marine biological field study called the East/West Marine Biology Program. This report is a summary of my internship experience. In six months at Northeastern University I gained practical knowledge in the areas of business management, marketing strategy, and marine education, and the experience was an important introduction to the business world.
