Abstract
  • The Distributed Testing Coordinator (DTC) is a system for control and coordination of the software testing processes at Rogue Wave. Some important features in this product include automatic resource configuration, centralized job scheduling, concurrent and distributed testing, failure recovery, and automatic event logging and test reporting. DTC consists of a variety of modules. The DTC Central Coordinator is the central module in DTC, and coordinates all testing processes. The Coordinator interfaces with a database containing testing-related information. The Coordinator spawn s a process, called a Master process, for each testing job. The Master process in turn initiates processes on remote machines where testing is performed. A Monitor process monitors the status of the Central Coordinator. This project developed the DTC Central Coordinator, including its central control unit, a standard interface for the test database, the communication package that defines the communication protocol between the Masters and Central Coordinator, and the Monitor Module.
