Abstract
  • Note: From here on Minimum Pollution Product and MPP will be used interchangeably. This study was initiated to develop a trademark which could be registered and used for advertising purposes by companies producing and selling products which are minimum pollutants relative to competitive products in the same market. One of the reasons for this study was to present a proposal that would affect consumer buying behavior positively towards Minimum Pollution Products--those products which I hope will carry the Minimum Pollution Product Trademark. At present, there are many symbols which represent minimum or non-pollution products. These symbols try to accomplish the same results as the Minimum Pollution Product concept but are concerned only with individual products. What makes the Minimum Pollution Product concept different from the purposes of other symbols is that in the MPP proposal one symbol was developed for all minimum pollution products--products of different companies. By using the MPP concept the consumer is required to remember and identify with only one symbol for all MPP products, a trademark which guarantees that the Minimum Pollution Product is the least harmful to the environment of the substitute products available.
