Abstract
  • This paper deals with finite abstract Witt rings in the case where -1 = 1 in the square class group. The results also apply to Witt rings of quadratic forms over fields where √-1 is in the field. The concept of relative rigidity is studied in finite abstract Witt rings via their associated linked quaternionic pairing. This topic is of interest in connection with the elementary type conjecture.
