Abstract	In this is paper, an implementation of a microprocessor based distributed control system (DCS) is investigated. This system consists of a digital PID controller and a high level operator interface. A temperature control system was designed to experimentally verify the system operation. Experimental results compare closely with theoretical prediction. The device performed satisfactorily as a mode of a distributed control system.
