Abstract
  • Recent judicial decisions give the treaty Indians in Oregon the right to fifty percent of the fish destined to reach their fishing areas. Oregon fish resource managers are considering various regulation options designed to assure the Indians their share. Stricter ocean fishing regulations and more sophisticated management techniques will have a mixed impact on commercial and sport fisheries.
