Abstract	The purpose of this study was to provide a history of the Business Education and Secretarial Science departments at Oregon State University. The historical-documentary method of research was used. Extensive use was made of interviews with those involved in the school's history. The chronology of history was divided into segments for greater clarity. It covers the period from 1868-1970. The study emphasizes the contribution made by members of the Business Education and Secretarial Science faculty in the development of Business Education. The role of Business Education and Secretarial Science and their philosophical aspects are discussed.
