Abstract
  • Since the early 1950's, irrigation agriculture in Deschutes County has evolved from a general diversified commercial farming structure, to one almost completely dominated by part-time hobby farms. Interrelated physical, economic, and social forces have been catalyst to change in the local agricultural systems. The resultant patterns may jeopardize the future quality, quantity, and availability of resources being used for agriculture of all types within the area.
