Abstract
  • The financial success or failure of a lighting or power enterprise is measured by the efficiency of the machinery, and the efficiency of the machinery depends upon that of each piece of apparatus of which it is composed. In alternating current distribution the transformers are frequently scattered in large numbers throughout the system, and their accumulative losses, forming a large part of the total energy wasted in the system, greatly effect the efficiency of the plant.
