  • This dissertation demonstrates the utility of the Instruction Set Processor Specification (ISPS) in a design environment. Although ISPS supports a wide range of applications in the areas of architecture evaluation and certification, design automation, software generation and fault simulation, the .emphasis in this dissertation is focused on using it in design verification and performance evaluation of a 16-bit processor, AF85. The utility of ISPS to support fault simulation at the functional level is also illustrated by several examples applied on AF85.
