Abstract
  • This thesis explores how students can find Shakespeare relevant in this modern technological society by creating and editing two podcasts that summarize two well known Shakespeare plays, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Interviews are also included from Oregon State University students to see their perspectives from reading the plays. Scripts were created by reading the Shakespeare plays and reading the modern English translations found on Sparknotes. This helped to create a script that was neutral in tone, so students can make their own conclusions about lines in the play. The podcasts are meant to be one of the first things students encounter before reading the play itself. It is an educational tool for students to understand what is going on in the play in an audio based format.
