Abstract
  • Storytelling has been a key societal element for hundreds of years. Over time it has evolved from tales spread by word-of-mouth, to printed words, and most recently to worldwide digital platforms. Stories, and their ability to be both shared and coveted, make them a truly unique aspect of the human existence. The act of creating stories is equally extraordinary. As Stephen King puts is, writing is a practice in telepathy. This collection explores storytelling in the form of short stories, flash fiction, and poems. Specifically, these stories will examine darker complexities of humanity, such as death and dying, disorder and illness, and other terrifying realities which exist both in the real world and in the human conscious.
