  • Over the past decade, the Oregon State University Malheur Agricultural Experiment Station in Ontario, Oregon, has evaluated hybrid poplar production, including irrigation criteria, irrigation amounts, irrigation systems, cover crops, and pruning. This research has found distinct advantages for water use and wood productivity when drip irrigation is used.
