Abstract
  • People interested in economic development in rural communities are often faced with the need to estimate impacts of economic changes or to forecast population, employment, business activity, or public service demands. An economic "tool" that is often used to assist in this task is the "multiplier." This circular is designed both as an introduction to multipliers for the practitioner and as a guide to help them select the appropriate multiplier for a given application.
