In the summer of 1961, oil and gas companies began seismic explorations offshore on the Oregon coast. These explorations inspired interest in the effects of explosions on marine life. This document gives the results of two series of tests on the effects of underwater explosions on Dungeness crabs held in crab pots near the detonations.
