Abstract
  • Crops were grown using accepted cultural practices within the limits of experimentation or trials were conducted on growers' fields, Most experiments were designed as randomized complete blocks with two to five replications. Herbicide treatments were applied uniformly with equipment ranging from precision plot sprayers to quart jars (granular applications). Unless otherwise indicated, preplant herbicide applications were incorporated with a PTO horizontal rotary tiller operated at a depth of approximately three inches. After critical application timings, crops were irrigated with overhead sprinklers at weekly intervals. Crop and weed responses are primarily a visual evaluation of stand reduction (SR) and growth reduction (GR), ranging from 0-10 or 0-100 with 10 or 100 as the maximum response for each rating. Additional information such as crop yields is reported for certain studies and may be reported in either English or metric systems. The letter F indicates that data were not collected for the particular plot parameter.
