Abstract	This guidebook is designed to be used by anyone in higher education who is interested in learning more and potentially utilizing some alternative design features to make undergraduate research experiences (UREs) more inclusive. This includes undergraduate advisors, project Principal Investigators, education specialists, instructors, program coordinators and leadership. While this program centered on the geosciences and focused on student development as researchers in the natural/physical sciences, many of the “lessons-learned” have relevance across disciplines.
