Abstract
  • This is the third data report of a study designed to determine the current patterns and water mass characteristics along the Oregon coast. The first report covered the period July 1958 to July 1959 (Wyatt and Callaway, 1961). During that year observations were taken to a maximum depth of 30 meters and at distances up to 25 miles off shore from Newport. The second report covered the period July 1959 to June 1960 (Wyatt and Kujala, 1961). This included observations to a maximum depth of 200 meters at ten-mile intervals to a distance of 45 miles off shore from Newport and Astoria. , The present report includes hydrographic data taken by the Department of Oceanography, Oregon State University, from.June 1960 to May 1961, inclusive.
