Abstract
  • Water chemistry measurements taken at or downstream of Fall Creek Reservoir, OR (43.9459714, -122.755765). Fall Creek is a tributary of the Middle Fork Willamette River, located approximately 20 miles SE of Eugene, Oregon, USA. Water chemistry measurements included water samples collected from the reservoir outflow (during autumn drawdown) and within Fall Creek Reservoir (during August). These water samples were analyzed to determine concentrations of dissolved organic carbon, suspended sediment, and nutrients. A sonde was used to measure temperature and dissolved oxygen within Fall Creek Reservoir during August. Repeated dissolved oxygen measurements were taken at the Fall Creek Dam intake during November 2016, along with several measurements further downstream in Fall Creek. Dissolved oxygen consumption assays were performed in 2016 using Fall Creek water obtained 1.35 km below the dam.
  • Context: Fall Creek Reservoir currently undergoes deep drawdowns during the autumn as a method for facilitating juvenile salmonid downstream movement. This dataset was collected to examine impacts of these deep drawdowns on water quality, as described in further detail in the manuscript "Water quality ramifications of temporary drawdown of Oregon reservoirs to facilitate juvenile Chinook salmon passage".
