During the WELOC-77 cruise, May 21 - June 18, 1977, hydrographic and light beam transmission measurements were simultaneously made in situ off the coast of Peru on R/V WECOMA. Temperature, salinity and light
transmission data are listed for standard depths, and their vertical profiles are also presented.
Particle size distributions (8-105-μm diameter), chlorophyll a, and particulate carbon
were measured off the Oregon coast during July 1973. The particle counts were transformed
to volume concentration and then subjected to characteristic vector analysis.
Ninety-two percent of the variance was accounted for by linear combinations of the first
two characteristic...
Hydrographic and optical measurements were made in situ in the Congo River and the Angola Basin during May 1978. These measurements were made by members of the optical oceanography group at Oregon State University in cooperation with scientists from the Netherlands Institute for Sea Research. The data taken by the...

During May and September of 1978, cruises were made in Monterey Bay
to study the relationship of ocean color spectra measured by aircraft and
in situ optical, hydrographic, and chemical parameters. These cruises were
carried out by the Oregon State University optical oceanography group and
by the Naval Postgraduate School...
The concentrations of calcite, opal and quartz have been measured in 113 South Atlantic core tops. The remainder of the total sample has been calculated as clay. A method for the quantitative determination of opal has been developed.
Calcite is the dominant factor in South Atlantic sediments; its pattern can...
